GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO BABYSMASH!

BabySmash is a shareware application that is for keeping your young kids happy without them accidentally dragging your word processor into the trash can. It basically just puts up random shapes and plays random sounds when your kid smashes on the keyboard (baby smash?) I know it sounds really stupid, and I'll admit it's my first real Mac program, but it's surprisingly catchy to those under the age of 5. I am amazed at how well it holds their attention. Anyway, it's shareware, so you have nothing to lose by trying. If you like it, you should send me something - $10 or at least a postcard if you're on a real tight budget.
Now hear this: you can put your own sounds into BabySmash using Sound Mover (available at fine ftp sites near you!) Here's how to put them in:
Double click on Sound Mover
If your system sounds are already open then click on the close button (under the sound list) to close them.
Hold down the option button and click on the "open any..." button on the left hand side. Find BabySmash and double click on it.
When Sound Mover asks, have it look for sounds in the resource of type snd .
You should now have a list of BabySmash sounds.
Now you can click on the open button on the right side to find sounds from other applications or your system sounds or whatever else you might find. When you have found a sound you want to include, just select it and copy it into the BabySmash sound list.
When you are done, quit sound mover. The next time you run BabySmash, it will include your new sound.
Note: if you are removing sounds, don't remove the "babysmash!" sound - the program needs it!

PS The sounds put on BabySmash will only play at 22KHz speed, so make sure there in that form (or else they'll play fast). Sorry about this, I'm still figuring out how to fix it!
PPS Keep in mind memory limitations of your computer. If BS starts to behave oddly, remove some sounds and try again.
